Opening of Louis Vicat Building on ESTP campus

20 February 2019

February 2019 - The new Louis Vicat Building—named after the inventor of artificial cement—was opened at a ceremony attended by Sophie Sidos, Chairwoman of the Louis Vicat Foundation, Jacques Merceron-Vicat, Honorary Chairman of the Vicat group and graduate engineer of the ESTP engineering school (1962 class), and Guy Sidos, Chairman and CEO of the Vicat group.

The new teaching and research building named after Louis Vicat will be used to instruct students in the professions of the concrete construction industry. Through lectures and workshops in the brand-new laboratory, budding engineers will develop specialist expertise in the control of concrete properties and the use of different concretes. The new 3,470-m² building is just part of the engineering school's modernization project. It includes a lecture hall, a relaxation and social area, and collaborative workspaces for fine-tuning the students' scientific expertise.

ESTP, conveying knowledge

ESTP Paris, 'the engineering school for major projects', is the benchmark faculty  in France that trains the largest number of executives working in construction and lifestyle development. The Vicat group has for many years supported ESTP through teaching and research programs addressing concrete.
