2020 Full-year results

The Rhône Décarbonation project, led by Vicat, SPSE, and Elengy, and the H4 Marseille Fos project have reached a decisive milestone with the signing of a strategic partnership agreement. This agreement secures 50% of H4 Marseille Fos’s biogenic CO₂ requirements for 2040 and marks the emergence of a low-carbon industrial ecosystem that will play a pivotal role for the Mediterranean region.

In Martigues (Bouches-du-Rhône), Paprec and Vicat are inaugurating ALTèreNATIVE, a new type of plant that transforms non-recyclable waste into alternative fuel for cement plants. This investment, led by two French family-run industrial groups can help to decarbonize the industry and contribute to developing national sovereignty. It is part of the regional ecological transition goals.

With the start of operations of the world’s first research and development facility for CO₂ capture based on the Pure Oxyfuel process, the European cement manufacturers Buzzi/Dyckerhoff, Heidelberg Materials, SCHWENK Zement, and Vicat are sending an important signal for the decarbonization of the construction materials industry.

Electrification at Xeuilley (54) and e-fuel production at Montalieu (38) to strengthen energy sovereignty and low-carbon mobility
