Vigier, subsidiary company of Vicat in Switzerland, presents « Lynx », the largest electrical vehicle in the world.
Named “Lynx”, the largest electrical vehicle in the world was presented by Vigier Ciment in april 2018.
In april 2018, in attendance of numerous federal and cantonal political representatives, the e-dumper “Lynx” was christened in the middle of the Tscharner quarry operated by Vigier Ciment. Turning a gasoil-operated worksite colossus into an ecological non-polluting electrical vehicule was the challenge laid down for Swiss and Bernise High schools, in collaboration with local private companies. This 58 tons net weight giant is a technical and ecological performance unique in the world.
Meant to carry limestone and marl, “Lynx” is equipped with batteries allowing it to climb up to 20 times a day the quarry’s hills by its own means. During the slopes at full charge, the batteries are loaded by braking energy collection. The electricity thus produced is enough to get it back empty up the hill in the mining zone.
