The project under way at the Morgon monastery is for a new three-level 200 m² extension that will serve as accommodation for monks. Two Vicat construction systems will complement each other for the operation: the Biosys hempcrete block and the KEPS insulating formwork block.

The Morgon monastery chose our two construction systems because of the degree of comfort they provide for occupants and for their thermal performance, which was a key issue for the project owner. The KEPS insulating form system that is being used for the common elements has excellent thermal resistance. And the Biosys hempcrete block used for the monks' cells provides optimum thermal insulation.

After hearing the project requirements, our Vicat employees worked hand in hand with the project owner to propose solutions consistent with the technical and environmental imperatives of the extension.

This regional construction site is supplied by our Belleville sur Saône plant. Demonstrating our community focus, we are implementing short-supply-chain production using concrete with Origine France Garantie certification.
