Pierre-Jean, Sector Manager in Haute-Savoie

"At the end of my work experience placement in September 2002, Vicat hired me in the Concrete & Aggregate Technical Department. In 2006 I was promoted to the position of operations engineer, then three years later, aggregates sector manager in Haute-Savoie. I manage a team of around 30 staff, working in Chamonix and Annecy. My role is to oversee operations, staff and the organization of work in the field. It’s like having your brain in the office and your feet in the quarry! It’s a rewarding job because you get to work with people in many different roles. There are a number of different tasks involved, and many different challenges on a daily basis."
