6 March 2018

The Gécamines quarry in Senegal is seeing big. After major capital expenditure on our facilities, we have now attained production capacity of 2.3 million tons per year to meet local requirements.

Our Gécamines basalt quarry located less than 4 kilometers from the village of Diack invested in new crushing plant and a larger fleet of quarrying plant in order to raise our annual production capacity from 1.45 to 2.3 million tons.

We are thus poised to meet a substantial increase in demand for aggregate in the country and, in particular, to supply new construction projects under the Emerging Senegal Plan.
The quarry historically operates two crushing plants. We decided to increase the capacity of the smaller of the two by changing its primary crusher and adding a secondary crusher, a four-deck screen, and a series of conveyors.
